5 Most Popular Looks Every Brides Asks For

This time of year is crazy for me because I try to book in as many trials for my brides as possible before the busiest of the wedding season months begin. Before a trial I normally ask the bride to either have an idea of the look she is after or if she could bring photos of looks that she loves. It never ceases to amaze me how often brides will bring the same photos off Pintrest to the trial. So I thought I would share the most popular photos brides bring and what is great about the look and perhaps what you might need to think about if you want that look. I hope you find it helpful.

Firstly is this beautiful sultry look. I used this photo on a blog post I did a while back and I used it as an example of the ‘sexy’ bridal look. This photo is so stunning and I personally love this look. What I love about it is how blended it is. I would call this my bridal smokey look. It’s dark enough to be bold and sexy but not too overdone where it might look like you are off to the clubs. If you bring this photo to your makeup artist keep in mind that this is a much darker look. Does your fiancé like you in darker makeup? Do you feel comfortable with darker eye makeup? Would this go with your dress? If you said yes then go for it. If not then tell your makeup artist that this is an idea you have but you would want a softer version.

This photo is so popular that I almost expect to see this photo at a trial. What I think draws brides to this look is how blue her eyes look and the softer shadows used. What I like about this look is that the shadow liner used under the eye is really soft and well blended. What you need to keep in mind if you love this look is if those particular shades would work on your eye. Some pink shades on the wrong skin tone can make eyelids look swollen so ask your makeup artist what she thinks. Often a champagne shade works better on warmer skin tone.

This is one very stunning look…on the right face! What’s so beautiful about this look is how super soft and warm the shades are. I love the peachy pink look but unless you have the beautiful porcelain skin to go with this look then it wont look the same on you. One tip I would give is to add a little eyeliner on the top lid. Your makeup artist should be able to apply is so thin that it’s hardly seen but it will make such a difference in your photos with that extra definition on the eyes.

This is such a beautiful photo it’s no wonder that so many brides want to look like this on their wedding day. What I love about this look is actually the skin. The finish is lovely and bronzed and the highlight is perfect. Great wedding day skin. However what most brides love about this look are her eyes. I would say this is similar to the first photo in that this look is actually much darker than it may seem. This look is created using dark browns, greys and charcoals. What makes this look even darker is how the eye shadow is pulled out past the corner of the eye. This is great if you love and feel comfortable with darker makeup. However if you know that you would find smokey eyes on your wedding day too much then find some softer options. I would still show this to your makeup artist as a look you like but perhaps a pulled back version.

Last but not least is this look. I would say that this is the look that could look great on almost anyone. However you need to keep in mind that this look is just a soft taupe tone on the lid followed by a black liner that is slightly winged. Its pretty simple. The key to this look is lashes. If you don’t have naturally big lashes then I would recommend having your makeup artist apply some false lashes to at least the corner of your eye. This look is a more classic look so again ask yourself if this makeup would go with the rest of your wedding day style. ♥
