5 Oils that Will Change your Skin

When it comes to your skin the best advice I give anyone is listen to what your skin needs. I know that sounds so cheesy but for years I was doing what I “thought” my skin needed. I had bad skin with lots of breakouts. I thought that my skin was too oily and needed oil free products. So I used harsh facial washes, creames and pimple treatments. Can you guess what happened? My skin got worse! It was only when I stopped and really looked at my skin that I realized that my skin was showing all the signs of being severly dehydrated. I went and bought my first oil lotion and I have never looked back. Now my beauty regime involves so much oil that it could solve the worlds oil crisis. Well not really but I am oil crazy and my skin has never been happier. My trick to using oil on your body is see if your skin drinks it up. If you apply oil and 30min later you are still shiny then you might be using an oil that’s too thick or your skin doesn’t need it.

The biggest hurdle when it comes to using oil based products is all in your mind.

When you have spots the idea of adding oil can seem insane but give it a go and you might find like me that your spots are just your skin trying to produce more oil since you keep stripping the natural oils off your skin.

Here are the main oils I use everyday. I hope you enjoy and next time you reach for the oil!

This was my first oil…oh the memories! Jojoba is the perfect oil to try on your skin if you are new to using oils since its so gentle. This oil by The Jojoba Company is easily absorbed and doesn’t have any overpowering smells!

Your life will change when you start using an oil as a face cleanser. Say goodbye to that tight feeling after you wash your face. This face Cleansing Face Oil by Lipidol is really lovely and gets off all my makeup even though they say it wont remove eye makeup.

When you get those pesky spots you just want to apply something onto them and so that’s when I grab my Tea Tree Oil from the Body Shop. Its a natural oil so it wont stress your already inflamed skin but will soothe it and naturally dry it out! I love this stuff.

I cant have a list of oils without talking about Bio Oil. This stuff is liquid gold for stretch marks, dehydrated skin, and scars. This is a great product if you are like me and your spots always leave a mark when they heal. My tip is to put some drops in your bath. Your whole body comes out feeling so soft!

I love this Lipidol Cleansing Body Oil. I use this in the shower. It emulsifies and lathers slightly and feels great. The smell is slightly like dish detergent but it washes off and is nice and light so you can pop clothes on straight away.
