The amazing Becky from Luminescence Studios was kind enough to share one of her favorite recipes. Watch this space, you will be seeing a lot more from Becky and her team!
When my husband and I got engaged we found a fabulous bakery. She not only won us over with her incredible red velvet wedding cake (raspberry filling and cream cheese topping) but her white chocolate brownies were divine. My husband doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth but he LOVED these brownies. We were living in South Florida at the time so whenever we would come to Georgia he would special request these. The bakery is no longer in business much to our dismay. So recently I went to work figuring out how to recreate these incredible brownies (big big shoes to fill). Because I am one of those people who is ALWAYS experimenting and changing things up I recreated the classic white brownie with a little bit of a twist. These can be made into little bites using a mini cupcake pan or made traditionally in a square baking dish.
If your anything like me (not a recipe follower) you can change these brownies up to suit your taste mixing and matching flavors.
Lavender White Chocolate Brownies with a Dulce De Leche Drizzle
Brownie:
1/2 cup butter
8 oz. white chocolate chips
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon dried lavender
1 cup flour (I use light flour to create a lighter texture)
Sprigs of fresh lavender for garnish
Drizzle:
1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
3 oz. white chocolate chips
2 tablespoons brown sugar
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 180 C (350 F)
In saucepan melt the butter and white chocolate chips until smooth. Add in the brown sugar and mix. Transfer mixture into mixing bowl. Mix in salt, vanilla, lavender, and eggs. Mix in flour. Be sure not to over mix.
Pour the brownie mixture into a well buttered (creates fabulous crispy caramelized edges) pan.
Baking times:
8″ Square Baking Dish – 25 minutes
Mini Cupcake Pan- 11 minutes
Whoopee Pie Pan- 6 minutes
Baking times will vary per oven. Brownies are ready when the top is a nice light golden brown.
While the brownies are baking add sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, and brown sugar into a saucepan. Heat over low until chocolate is completely melted and mixture is smooth and bubbly. Make sure to stir continuously.
Once brownies have cooled for 5 minutes drizzle the mixture on top to your liking then sprinkle with lavender. You can also sprinkle a little bit of powdered sugar to make them look extra fabulous…let the brownies cool and enjoy!
