Smashbox CC Cream Review

I have been a BB cream girl for ages now. I have used a few different brands but always kept to BB. So when I got the chance to try Smashbox’s CC cream I was excited but not sure what to expect. So what does the CC cream do? Well apparently apart from make you coffee in bed it does everything, “It primes, perfects, protects (With SPF 30!), it moisturises and controls oil – plus it neutralises and brightens skin for a more even complexion. It’s also proven to fade dark spots, sun spots and post-acne marks instantly and over time.”

Now this is not the newest product on the market but I personally have never tried it so I am guessing some of you haven’t either. This product really interests me because of the whole “proven to fade post acne marks” My skin has this amazing way of holding on to every post acne scar that I have ever gotten since I hit puberty, I may be slightly exaggerating but not by much.

Here are my thoughts. Firstly it feels great on my skin which is nice. I don’t care how amazing a product is if it makes my skin tight or feels heavy its dead to me. I found the coverage good. When going out I would probably use a highly pigmented powder to add just that bit more coverage. What I did love about it however is how well it lasted and suited my skin. This can be the problem with CC or BB creams, they usually only come in 5 shades. 5 shades might seem like a lot but put 100 woman in a room and there are going to be a lot of woman who don’t have a perfect match.

If its not a perfect match just walk away.

Overall I really like it and Smashbox should be proud of a great product. I will wear it over some time to see how it deals with my acne scars…fingers crossed.

I would recommend this to the busy woman. The woman who wants to wear makeup but hardly has time to have breakfast let along apply a primer, moisturizer, foundation and concealer. This is one easy product and it helps your skin in so many different ways. My advice is if your going to use just one product onto your skin then take that extra minute to apply it properly. ♥

    Hi Christina
Just wondering how you’ve liked the product so far? (Wasn’t too sure when you wrote this piece)
I’ve been using this product for nearly two years now and I swear it does fade post-acne scars 🙂 When I had my first baby I broke out so bad that I almost hated leaving the house and if I was unemployed I probably wouldn’t have left the house lol.
Over a period of about 4 years I tried nearly everything from different make up brands, skincare regimes to professional treatments and supplements and NOTHING worked- it was a very expensive experience. Right before I was about to give up and just live with it I found this gem of a product and after about a week my skin started to clear right before my eyes I was almost trying to hold back on getting excited as this had happened before with other treatments – getting excited only to be let down with a big breakout again.lol
To this day I can say my skin is better than it was before I had my babies and I wear minimal make up now, also because the coverage is perfect for everyday wear and it doesn’t feel cakey like other BB and CC Creams I’ve tried 🙂
I just thought I’d share that little story and hope you’ve had a similar, if not better, experience than me 🙂
(Shout outs also to my buddy- the Konjac sponge that also aided in clearing my skin and is also very afordable. This is also another “swear-by” product for problem skin!)
