Get the Look- Double Lined Soft Smokey Eye

A while back I Instagramed this carfie (car selfie) and since then I have had lots of you lovelies ask me what products I used to get this eye look. I love this look for two reasons. Firstly it’s so easy and I am not just saying that because you will see by how few products it takes to get this look.

Secondly this look is not too heavy to wear in the day or too light for a night look. That’s why this look is so popular with brides. For wedding makeup you have the same makeup from ceremony to reception so you need a look that will work for both day and night and last the distance. I don’t know really what to call this look so for now its my “Double lined Soft Smokey Eye”. I will work on the name but give it a try!

Firstly even though this is an eye look its always about the skin first and foremost. I am loving this Sukin Rose Hip Day Cream. It leaves my skin really soft and I find that its helps my makeup lasts longer. It contains pomegranate which acts and an anti-inflammatory to deliver a balanced, radiant complexion so it’s perfect for anyone with irritated skin.

For the eye look I started with my favorite natural toned eyeshadow Taupe by Bobbi Brown. I blended this as a soft base on my lid with the blending never going above my crease line. This is the perfect everyday shadow.

I then added a medium thick black liner using MAC’s Fluidline. It comes packaged in a glass pot and I used the shade Blacktrack (solid flat black) which I applied with a liner brush. What’s great about this stage is you don’t have to be too perfect with the line because its going to be covered anyways.

Next is the fun part. I used Bobbi Brown’s Cream Shadow in Bittersweet to double line. Now double lining is just when you take one product and go over a line that’s already there. The trick is to blend blend and blend more so that it gives a soft semi smokey look. This cream shadow is waterproof and smudge proof so its perfect for those long days like a wedding.

I applied MAC lash number 20. What’s great about this type of lash is its natural so it’s great if you don’t normally wear lashes and they don’t irritate your eye because its on the outer corner.

Once the glue has dried then apply mascara on your bottom lashes, pop on a natural or lighter toned lippy and you are good to go. See that was easy and you can tweak the look if you want it more dramatic or lighter. ♥
