Real Wedding// The Robinsons Chic City Wedding

I recently had the pleasure of being a part of the delightful Libby’s wedding. Libby was a ball of bubbly excitement on her wedding day and it totally reflected in how fun and relaxed her wedding day was. Libby and Brad’s wedding was urban chic and very sophisticated. Have a look at this beautiful wedding and I hope it inspires you for your wedding planning

Firstly how did you and your husband meet?

Brad and I met at an event where I was waitressing and he was on the bar… he caught my eye (who’s that hot babe?!) and we were briefly introduced to each other. We became ‘acquaintances’ and bumped into each other at church or through mutual friends and then the rest is history!

How would you describe the overall look/feel of your wedding day?

I would describe our wedding as modern classic. We made the day modern with our stationery and styling yet classic with simple, timeless decorations, a church ceremony and a big reception with all of our friends and family.

What was the hardest part of putting your wedding day together?

I would say the hardest part of putting the wedding together was 2 days before the wedding I hadn’t made the favours yet or written the final run sheet so I was stressing out a bit that everything was going to get done and run smoothly! My advice would be get everything done at least a week before your wedding so that you can relax in the days leading up!

Tell us about the food/decorations?

We had our reception at Cibo and the food was absolutely incredible. Cibo is known for their incredible menu and we were so blessed to be able to have our wedding there! I had an amazing duck leg dish and Brad had eye fillet. We had canapés to start and dessert was big platters of sharing plates which was nice because you got to try a bit of everything! Our table decorations were simple but beautiful, around the white napkin we tied a piece of twine with a piece of rosemary sitting in the middle. And in the middle of the tables we had about 5 small vases of flowers, blush and ivory roses with gypsophila (my fave!)

On the day what was your favorite moment?

My favourite moment was walking into the reception with Brad and our bridal party – we danced into ‘Cheers’ by Rihanna (haha) and it was so incredible to have all of our gorgeous friends and family there to celebrate with us!

If you could do the day again is there anything that you would change?

Our day was amazing – I think that there are always going to be little things that may go wrong but you just need to embrace the imperfections and enjoy the day! If I could change one thing it would be that my walking in song didn’t start early (it started when I wasn’t even there and they had to stop it and start it again when I did arrive! It caused much confusion for the poor groom!!)

What advice would you give to a bride leading up to her wedding day?

I would say stick with your gut and choose what you know you would love on your day. Don’t over think decisions, trust that you are making the right ones! On the day, just relax, be in the moment and soak it all in! It is such a special day.
