As a beauty blogger one of the biggest trends I have seen this year has been the takeover of everything natural. A trend starts simply because brands are answering the requests from customers and clients. This makes perfect sense because now more than ever woman are turning towards the natural route for everything from haircare and raw jucies to their sanitary needs. So when I was invited this week to learn more about the new haircare range from Matrix Biology R.A.W I was so excited!
The event was held at the very trendy and Pin worthy The Raw Kitchen in the City Works Depot. We were treated to cold pressed raw juices on arrival and nibbled on bliss balls and the best raw caramel slice I have ever had. Truth! The funny bit was when I arrived and reached for a juice I actually grabbed one of the shampoos because the Biolage range looks like a beautiful smoothie or juice.

So I am going to be honest with you. I am really new to natural haircare….and by that I mean I was a natural haircare virgin before I tried this range. I find that kinda crazy because I am moving more and more towards living a more natural and organic lifestyle (never thought I would actually say that haha) One of the biggest Ah-Ha moments I had was when they explained that,
An ingredient is classified as natural origin if it is unchanged from its natural state or has undergone processing, yet still retains greater than 50% of its molecular structure from its original plant or mineral source.
The R.A.W philosophy also believes in the idea of less is more which I loooove. They got rid of all the non-essential ingredients from all R.A.W. formulations so you are left with haircare free of sulfates, silicones, parabens or artificial colorants in any form. Now this sounds amazing but like anything that is natural that you are trying for the first time it feels different to what you are used to.
I found that it took 3-4 washes for my hair to start to really look its best. At first it feels almost like you are missing something when you are shampooing and conditioning but after a few washes all the old sulfates and silicones in your hair are gone and I found my hair was more shinny then ever before!! Big call but I said it!
And last but not least the shampoo that I use (the uplift range which is above) is the best smelling shampoo I have ever used. I was shampooing and I legit turned into a shampoo add girl, slow motion head massaging and all ♥
